LONG ISLAND COLLEGE HOSPITAL STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT TO GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION

The Long Island College Hospital is committed to providing an organized educational program in graduate medical education. The Institution's graduate medical education program provides guidance and supervision of residents and facilitates residents' ethical, professional and personal development while ensuring safe and appropriate care for patients.

The Long Island College Hospital is committed to providing the leadership for this effort through its Graduate Medical Education Committee, its Chief of Academic Affairs, its Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs and the individual department chairs and program directors.

The Long Island College Hospital is committed to providing the essential financial, education, and human resources needed to enable the Institution to achieve substantial compliance with the Institutional Requirements of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

The Long Island College Hospital is committed to providing the essential financial, educational, and human resources needed to support GME programs and to enable its' graduate medical education programs to achieve substantial compliance with the Program Requirements of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. This includes providing an ethical, professional and educational environment n which curricular requirements and the requirements for scholarly activity and clinical competency can be met.

The Long Island College Hospital is committed to excellence in education and in medical care. The Long Island College Hospital is also committed to regularly assessing the quality of its graduate medical educational programs and the performance of its residents, and to using outcome assessment results for program improvement.
