Residency Training Program:
We offer a one-year ADA CODA accredited General Practice Residency (July 1st – June 30th). There are 3 PGY-1 positions available each year. The focus of the program is comprehensive care offering a busy clinical experience. The residents are exposed to all aspects of dentistry including: Periodontics, Endodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Fixed and Removable Prosthetics, and dental implants – both surgical and restorative phases. Through the clinical schedule and supporting didactic curriculum, the residents treat patients from the surrounding community as well as patients who are admitted to the hospital. Through the curriculum, residents learn to treat medically complex and dental complex cases.

One full clinic day is dedicated to pediatric dentistry. The residents spend one day a week in the operating room, at the St. Luke’s site, performing dentistry for patients under general anesthesia. Off-service training consists of rotations to the Anesthesia Department as well as the Emergency Room.

The residents spend approximately every 3rd night working on-call, covering both Roosevelt Hospital as well as St. Luke’s Hospital, with the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residents treating dento-alveolar and facial trauma cases.

Application Process:
The St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Dentistry residency is a fully accredited one year program. We participate in both PASS (Postdoctoral Application Support Service) as well as in the MATCH. Please visit the respective websites for more information.

The deadline for PASS applications is October 31. Applications are accepted with all supporting documentation: three letters of recommendation, dean’s letter, official transcript, curriculum vitae, personal statement and small photograph.
