Many of our patients are referred to us by other doctors. We work collaboratively with primary care physicians, dermatologists and other types of referring physicians to develop a customized wound care treatment plan. Our philosophy is that the referring physician is part of the wound care treatment team and our goal is to provide a coordinated care approach.

Patients with the following conditions should be referred to a wound care specialist for wound care treatment and management:

• Arterial disease
• Bone infections (Osteomyelitis)
• Diabetic foot ulcers
• Edema
• Failing or compromised skin/muscle grafts or flaps
• Gangrene
• Injuries that won’t heal
• Ischemia
• Lower leg ulcers
• Malignancy
• Necrotic debris
• Peripheral vascular disease ulcers
• Post-operative infected wounds
• Pressure ulcers
• Radiation burns or injuries
• Skin tears or lacerations
• Slow or non-healing surgical wounds
• Soft tissue infection
• Surgical wounds
• Venous disease
• Wounds over 30 days old that fail
• Wounds caused by radiation treatment or trauma
