Counseling and Testing
HIV Education, Counseling and Testing Services assist in the early identification and management of HIV infection through education, counseling and referral services.
Certified HIV counselors provide confidential pre - and post-HIV counseling and voluntary testing of patients who are recommended for HIV testing, for people interested in learning their HIV status, and for hospital employees who experience a job-related exposure.
Certified HIV counselors work with HIV-positive patients to help put together a treatment plan that includes referrals to comprehensive medical care and social services available at the Peter Krueger Center as well as at other health care facilities. They also assist with voluntary partner notification and disclosure. For more information, call (212) 420-5693.
