  Planning My Appointment
Q. How far in advance are appointments scheduled?
A. Appointments for an executive physical are scheduled at least two weeks in advance. You can schedule an appointment by calling toll free (877) 420-4209 or (212) 420-2882, or by e-mailing occumed@chpnet.org. We will do all we can to accommodate you. We also ask that when making an appointment, you let us know if you desire any additional consultations.

Q. How do I cancel an appointment?
A. If you need to cancel or reschedule your exam, please call us 48 hours prior to your original appointment.

Q. Is your program covered by health insurance?
A. Health insurance does not cover the Executive Health Program. Payment can be arranged by employers (via contractual agreement) or by individuals at the time of service. We accept personal checks, VISA and MasterCard.

Q. How long does the comprehensive medical history/physical take?
A. Evaluations usually last three to six hours, depending on tests conducted.

Q. Will I receive an itinerary for the day?
A. Yes, you will receive a schedule for everything that will occur on the day of your physical.

Q. Can my spouse also make an appointment at the Executive Health Program?
A. Yes. Family members and friends are welcome to schedule appointments.

The Day of My Physical
Q. When should I arrive for my Executive Health physical?
A. Once your appointment is set, you will be given specific instructions on what to do and where to go on the day of your physical. A chaperone will accompany you through the hospital should you have multiple appointments with various specialists.

Q. What should I wear?
A. Normal attire is fine for your physical.

Q. What do I need to bring with me?
A. You need not bring anything with you.

Q. Can I eat the night before an appointment?
A. You will be instructed on what to eat or not eat, depending on the testing that will be performed.

Travel and Accomodations
Q. How do I get to Beth Israel?
A. Beth Israel is located on First Avenue at 16th Street in Manhattan. If car service is needed, it can be requested at the time you make your appointment.

Q. Where can I stay in New York City?
A. Beth Israel offers executives scheduled for a physical an overnight stay in our deluxe suites, located in the hospital, First Avenue and 16th Street.

After My Appointment
Q. When should I expect the formal report of my evaluation?
A. A formal report, with a CD/flash drive, including a copy of your scans, will be mailed to you within two weeks of your physical.

Q. Does the Executive Health Program conflict with my primary care physician?
A. The Executive Health Program complements your regular visits to your primary care physician (PCP). We advise you to follow up with your current PCP after your Executive Health physical, and if you wish, we will send your doctor a complete report of your exam. You also have the option to see one of our specialty physicians within the Mount Sinai Health System network for follow-up care.

Q. Can I schedule additional consultations with Beth Israel physicians through the Executive Health Program?
A. Yes. Our network will facilitate scheduling if requested and/or necessary.
