If you’ve been told you have a “spot” or “shadow” on your lung, you probably have a lung nodule. You undoubtedly have a lot of questions. The Beth Israel Lung Nodule Center has answers for you, along with excellent diagnostic and treatment options. Our mission is to help people with these findings—that may pose a risk for lung cancer—get treatment in the earlier stages of malignant disease as well as to find the best course of action for non-cancerous (benign) lung nodules.
Our unique approach combines the expertise of three disciplines—radiology, thoracic surgery and pulmonary medicine—to provide a thoroughly comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to the detection, treatment, and long term surveillance of lung nodules.
The Beth Israel Lung Nodule Center offers the most advanced techniques and treatment options to diagnose and manage lung nodules—whether they are benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Our radiologists provide the latest in imaging techniques, including CT scans and PET scans. Our surgeons use the latest in video-assisted and robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgical techniques. Our pulmonary and interventional pulmonary specialists complement these offerings with the latest techniques in the medical management of lung nodules, including navigational bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, transbronchial fine needle aspiration (EBUS) and image-guided transthoracic needle biopsy.
