General Orthopedics
The general orthopedics service at Beth Israel Medical Center has expert physicians who can treat a broad spectrum of orthopedic conditions. A general orthopedist routinely treats musculoskeletal conditions over the entire body, as opposed to an orthopedic sub-specialist who focuses on a particular joint, such as a knee surgeon or a shoulder surgeon, and can treat 90 percent of all musculoskeletal complaints. Because of their whole-body approach, general orthopedists can often make connections between orthopedic conditions in various body areas that a specialist focused on one area of the body cannot. They also have the insight and capability to refer to the full complement of orthopedic sub-specialists at Beth Israel for treatment of severe or unusual conditions that require special expertise. For a referral to one of our general orthopedic surgeons at Beth Israel in Manhattan or Brooklyn, please call our Physician Referral Service at 1-888-244-3257. |
