Two Continuum Hospitals Named in
U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Hospitals" Issue

New York, NY (July 23, 2009) – Beth Israel Medical Center and The New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, partner institutions of Continuum Health Partners, are among those listed in the 2009 U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Hospitals” annual survey, released online July 16th and on new stands July 21st.

The magazine assesses hospital care in 16 key medical specialties, and only 174 of more than 4,860 hospitals surveyed are named to this prestigious list. Under the specialty of Ear, Nose and Throat, Beth Israel Medical Center ranks #41 (its inaugural inclusion on this list), and The New York Eye & Ear Infirmary ranks #49, and under the specialty of Ophthalmology, ranks #15--New York Eye & Ear has consistently been listed on both of these specialties for many years.

“I am delighted that Beth Israel Medical Center and The New York Eye & Ear Infirmary appear on this year’s U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals list,” says Stanley Brezenoff, President and CEO, Continuum Health Partners. “It is a tribute to the medical excellence of our physicians, nurses and support staff who deliver the highest quality of care to our patients on a daily basis.”
