At the Department of Otolaryngology at Beth Israel Medical Center (BIMC) we believe your state of mind and spirit play a decisive role in health and healing. Our physicians are superb medical specialists and compassionate healers who are eager to support your treatment in every way possible.

Our facility was customized for your convenience and comfort with more than 30 medical specialists, advanced diagnostic technology and biopsy labs, all located under one roof in the Phillips Ambulatory Care Center (PACC) on Union Square in New York City. Our pleasant offices face a light-filled atrium and many waiting rooms are equipped with telephones, computers with Internet access and televisions. We are easily reachable by car, bus or subway.

What to bring on your first visit
Please arrive 15 minutes early for your visit to fill out any necessary forms and to discuss details of your care with our receptionist. To avoid delays, be sure to bring your Medicare card, insurance information and any required referral forms.

Your BIMC physician can provide a more comprehensive evaluation on your first visit if you also bring:

• X-rays, imaging and scan results, films, and pertinent CD's
• Biopsy slides or additional test results
• A list of all medications you currently take
• Other materials given to you by your referring physician

Please ask your primary care physician or other referring physician to provide the tests and materials you may need for a first visit to our department, or contact us for more information.

Take strength from other head and neck cancer survivors
Support for People with Oral and Head and Neck Cancer (SPOHNC) is a nationally organized support group created by people with head and neck cancer for people with head and neck cancer, their families and friends.

Each month we meet at PACC to share our strength and strategies and to hear a guest lecturer. Past speakers include experts in head and neck cancer nutrition, speech and swallowing pathology, patient advocacy, integrative medicine, legal support for cancer survivors and more.
