"When you can’t breathe, nothing else matters."
—American Lung Association
Welcome to the Airway Center of New York. Our Center focuses on diagnosing and treating disorders of the upper and middle respiratory tract that obstruct or narrow the movement of breath from the nose to the trachea’s larger airways. Conditions of the airways that are treated at the Center include cancer, inflammatory disorders, traumatic injury (including post-intubation stenosis), infectious causes and structural defects. We accept patients from childhood through older adulthood.
Our Center treats some of the most complex airway disorders and our experts attract patients from across the United States, and around the world, including Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas, Europe, India, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, including Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The multidisciplinary nature of the Center is built on the combined, complementary efforts of a thoracic surgeon and an otolaryngologist (ENT) who is also a head and neck surgeon. Their partnership forms a unique collaboration ideally suited for complex and cutting-edge approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of airway disorders.
The duo works closely with expert pulmonologists, allergists/immunologists, rheumatologists, internal medicine physicians and other specialists as needed in each patient’s case. All our clinicians are affiliated with Mount Sinai Health System of New York, including partner hospitals St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, Beth Israel Medical Center and the Continuum Cancer Centers of New York.
The Center offers a wide range of state-of-the-art open and minimally invasive surgeries to treat conditions of the airways, including such techniques as stenting, balloons, endoscopic repair, robotics and video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS).
