Patient Education and Support

We provide education to patients with a variety of lung conditions, so that they can better manage themselves and improve their quality of life.

Patient education includes:

• Helping patients to understand their condition
• Teaching self-management skills and therapies, including the metered dose inhalers, spacers and peak-flow monitoring
• Learning about triggers and environmental issues that may worsen a condition
• Providing one-on-one educational sessions to anyone with a lung condition or disease.

Community Outreach
Our community outreach programs focus on risk reduction and early detection, especially among young adults. We work with colleges and universities to develop activities that will help young adults to maintain healthy lung function throughout their lives.

We collaborate with organizations such as The New York Lung Association and The New York City Asthma Coalition, to support events such as World Asthma Day and the Great American Smokeout.

We also conduct our outreach activities in Spanish.
