The Urogynecology Program is part of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Its physicians specialize in the diagnosis and management of pelvic floor disorders in women.
As many as 25 million Americans (men and women) are affected by pelvic floor disorders which can interfere with a patient’s social and emotional well being. A common but incorrect belief is that these disorders or conditions are the result of aging and cannot be treated. Indications are that less than 25% of those suffering from pelvic floor disorders have seeked medical help, whereas a great majority of patients can be helped to reduce or resolve their problem.
