Most pelvic floor disorders are treatable and symptoms can either be reduced or completely resolved. As true for any condition, a patient’s specific diagnosis is essential. Management and treatment of pelvic floor disorders begins with a comprehensive diagnosis which includes a:

  • Complete Medical History
  • Physical Examination
  • Urinalysis
  • Urodynamic Testing (bladder functioning test)
  • Cystoscopy and/or Radiology

Treatment strategies are then tailored to a patient’s unique clinical condition and can include any combination(s) of the following:

  • Medications
  • Dietary recommendations
  • Pelvic floor rehabilitation using computerized biofeedback techniques
  • Use of a Pessary (device used to raise the genital area)
  • Surgery
