Honoring the health needs of the Asian-American community in New York City
The Asian Services Center is here to provide easy and seamless access to high quality inpatient and outpatient care as well as support services available at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Our personalized approach ensures the best possible experience for both patients and referring physicians. The goal of the Asian Services Center is to partner with our patients' physicians in order to provide the most effective and coordinated care possible.
Referring physicians can rely on the Center staff to:
- Streamline the referral process
- Coordinate in-hospital care with specialists
- Monitor your patient's progress
- Help your patients navigate the American health care system
- Keep you informed in a timely manner
- Efficiently discharge patients to your practice
In case of an emergency, we have a dedicated private ambulance service to transport patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week to Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Call 877-251-9111 to make arrangements.
A dedicated Asian Services social worker will be on hand to guide your patient and family members through the Emergency Room admission process.
At Mount Sinai Beth Israel, our goal is to make your patients and their loved ones comfortable the moment they enter our facilities. Asian-American patients admitted to the hospital will find an environment that honors their culture, traditions and language with:

- A dedicated social worker
- Asian meals
- Free newspapers
- Multi-lingual signs
In addition, we continue to recruit multi-lingual employees and provide training to non-Asian staff to enhance employee understanding of the culture and family dynamics of the Asian-American community.
Patients seeking exceptional medical, surgical and preventive care will find it at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Our hospital is widely known for its world-class specialists in the areas of heart disease, cancer, neurosurgery, minimally invasive surgery, women's health, as well as pain medicine and palliative care.
Convenient access to all hospital resources is available through the Petrie Division and the Phillips Ambulatory Care Center (PACC). From medical and surgical assessments and treatments to a full range of complex multi-specialty interventions and emergency medicine, we are combining medical excellence with easy access and personalized care.
The Asian Services Center and the Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care (DPMPC) at Mount Sinai Beth Israel published an "Asian Family Caregiver Handbook". This joint effort was designed to help caregivers feel more comfortable in their role so that their relatives and they themselves can feel better during difficult times.
The program and handbook were made possible thanks to a generous grant from The Altman Foundation and The Jacob and Valerie Langeloth Foundation.
To request a hard copy of the handbook, please contact the Asian Services Center. The handbook is also available online in both Chinese and English at www.NetofCare.org.
The Asian Services Center is led by a dedicated team of professionals. Each of our staff members has nurtured individual ties to the Asian-American community through active involvement in community organizations.
