The Heather on Earth Multi-site Music Therapy Study

Thanks to Geri Fessler and the Heather on Earth Music Foundation, the Armstrong Program will be administering a two-year study which will include measurements of vital signs and the use of live music on 30 infants from eight NICU's in the Northeast.

The eight sites that are involved in the study will send music therapy research fellows and directors to a two day pre-research training to be conducted by the principal investigator at Beth Israel Medical Center in August, 2006. This training will ensure that the eight sites involved in the research project will be providing identical interventions and that the data are collected in a uniform and reliable fashion.

There will be a two-day required training at Beth Israel at Phillips Ambulatory Care Center in the Louis Armstrong Center for Music & Medicine (10 Union Square East, 2nd floor) on Monday August 28th and Tuesday August 29th, 2006 from 10am to 4pm. At this training we will answer questions, review techniques, share experientials and literature as well as review the study enrollment and data upkeep procedures.
