Providing Patient-Centered, Advanced Neurosurgical Treatments for Neurological Disease and Disorders

We provide compassionate care in dealing with these conditions, placing the needs of our patients above all other concerns.

Our team of neurosurgeons has broad experience in treating neurological conditions, having trained at the most renowned neurosurgical programs in the United States. Our areas of expertise include brain, skull-based, pituitary and acoustic tumors; trigeminal and glossopharyngeal neuralgia; peripheral nerve surgery; cerebrovascular problems; spine and spinal cord tumors; Chiari malformations; syringomyelia; cranio-cervical disorders; and epilepsy.

We employ cutting-edge diagnostics and state-of-the-art neurosurgical techniques to produce successful outcomes for a wide range of neurological conditions.

Diagnostic techniques can include computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, angiography, electroencephalography, ultrasound imaging, positron emission tomography, and the newest advance testing techniques—MR neurography and magnetic resonance angiography—noninvasive studies that provide three-dimensional views of the brain, spine and peripheral nervous system.

Surgical procedures can include primary brain tumor surgery; spinal reconstruction and peripheral nerve surgery; intracranial neuroendoscopy, which reduces surgical complications, shortens hospital stays and minimizes cosmetic concerns patients may have; and minimally invasive, computer-assisted, image-guided neurosurgery procedures that require smaller incisions and minimal anesthesia.

Anesthesiologists, physician assistants and nurses, specializing in neurosurgical care, staff our dedicated surgical suites and intensive care units at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, ensuring a multidisciplinary team approach tailored for each patient’s specific needs, with the extra measures of care that lead to quick and comfortable recoveries.

In fact, our Department of Neurosurgery lets patients tap into all the medical expertise Beth Israel has to offer. The Medical Center serves as the Manhattan campus for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

The Beth Israel Department of Neurosurgery’s patient-centered approach to care, expert neurosurgical team, highly skilled support staff and advanced technology and surgical techniques truly set us apart from other New York City neurosurgical departments.
