General Neurosurgery
Our General Neurosurgery Service uses a multidisciplinary approach to provide a complete range of diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation services for patients with general neurological disorders affecting the central and peripheral nervous systems, including their supportive structures and vascular supply. Many procedures can be done using minimally invasive neurosurgical techniques.

Brain Tumor Neurosurgery
Our Brain Tumor Service is a leader in treating benign and malignant, primary and metastatic brain, skull-based and pituitary tumors. It uses the most advanced techniques, including computer-assisted, image-guided surgical procedures and minimally invasive, endoscopic techniques to treat these lesions.

Spine Neurosurgery
Our Spine Service offers comprehensive treatment for all spine and spinal cord disorders, including degenerative conditions, tumors, trauma, deformities (scoliosis) and pain, employing both open and minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Our Peripheral Nerve Service offers comprehensive treatment for all peripheral nerve disorders, including entrapment neuropathies (carpal tunnel, ulnar nerve, anterior interosseous nerve, posterior interosseous nerve and tarsal tunnel), peripheral nerve tumors, (schwannoma, neurofibroma) and nerve trauma.

Endoscopic Neurosurgery
Our Endoscopic Neurosurgery Service uses minimally invasive surgical techniques that employ catheters or scopes to more easily treat intracranial ailments. Because small incisions are used with this type of surgery, there are fewer side effects, and patients have quicker recoveries. It is often used to treat hydrocephalus, drain intracranial cysts and to biopsy brain tumors. In certain cases, it also can be used for spinal surgery.

Endoscopic neurosurgery is often performed under a local anesthesia, allowing patients to leave the hospital in one or two days.

Skull Base Neurosurgery
Uniquely challenging, Skull Based Neurosurgery requires specially trained and highly qualified surgeons to perform intricate procedures in the smallest recesses of the brain. Beth Israel’s neurosurgeons have the expertise and experience to perform these delicate surgeries and manage skull base pathologies.

Pediatric Neurosurgery
Our Pediatric Neurosurgery Service works closely with pediatric specialists to treat the most complex disorders that affect a child’s brain and spinal cord, such as head and spine deformities. Our team of top pediatric neurosurgeons and our multidisciplinary approach, along with our specialized and comprehensive diagnostics and treatments, ensures outstanding outcomes for our young patients, allowing them to grow and develop to their full potential.

Epileptic Neurosurgery
Our Epileptic Neurosurgery Service delivers world-class treatments for patients with difficult-to-control epilepsy, providing outstanding clinical management and state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. Our experienced team understands the difficulties in treating this disease and provides optimum care, so people with epilepsy can lead as normal a life as possible.
