The trauma service of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center treats many traumatic injuries that can occur to the musculoskeletal system. These can occur in new injuries, such as from sports, falls, auto, motorcycle or bicycle accidents, household accidents, or work injuries.

Types of injuries we treat include:

• Fractures anywhere in the lower and upper limbs
• Ligament or tendon tears in the lower or upper limbs
• Joint injuries and dislocations

• Fractures that will not heal (non-union fractures), or delayed union
• Bone or joint deformity from a fracture that heals out of proper alignment (malunion)
• Joint deformity resulting from arthritis

Beth Israel Orthopedics offers surgical and non-surgical treatment options to repair fractures and other trauma injuries, with a goal to restore as much normal function and mobility as possible. Many less extensive injuries can be repaired with minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, on an outpatient basis.
