General Ear, Nose and Throat (Otolaryngology)

Mount Sinai’s general ear, nose and throat doctors (otolaryngologists) are board certified and practice across multiple locations at the Mount Sinai Health System. Their expertise spans the full range of general ear, nose and throat disorders, such as sinusitis, epistaxis (nose bleeds), ear infectionslaryngitis and tonsillitis. Additionally, they perform in-office procedures, when necessary, including nasal endoscopy, stroboscopy, laryngoscopy, biopsies, balloon sinuplasty, ear tube insertion, and ear wax removal.

The team embraces a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach with other Departments and Divisions across the Health System. These encompass Internal Medicine/Primary Care AssociatesPulmonologyAllergy & ImmunologyNeurologyGeriatrics and Oncology. Similarly our general ENTs work closely with other specialty Divisions within the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, particularly Rhinology, Laryngology, and Head and Neck Oncology. As part of an academic medical center, the members of the Division of General ENT participate in research studies with the Division of Infectious Diseases and other ENT specialties, namely rhinology and head and neck oncology.

Specialty services at our various Mount Sinai locations are also available when you or a loved one visit our general ENTs. These are: speech language pathology (speech and swallowing evaluations), audiology, allergy testing, vestibular rehabilitation, and balance/vertigo testing.  

When to Make an Appointment with an ENT Doctor

Your primary care provider may refer you to a general otolaryngologist for problems of the ear, nose, throat, mouth or neck. You may also schedule an appointment with a general otolaryngologist directly for chronic or urgent problems of these areas. Check with your insurance carrier about whether a referral is necessary.

The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery offers Same Day Appointments at various sites in the Mount Sinai Health System.
