Volunteer in Pediatrics
Volunteers have the opportunity to work with our youngest patients at the Petrie Division and Phillips Ambulatory Care Center (PACC). Whether it’s playing with a child or reading them a story, the most rewarding part is seeing a child’s face light up with a smile.
Opportunities
- Pediatric In-Patient Playroom (Petrie Division)
Volunteers play and entertain children with board games, computer games, arts and crafts while they are in the medical center.
- Pet Assisted Activities Program (Petrie Division)
Volunteers who have a dog and would like to share their dog with our patients can become part of our Pet Assisted Team after completing a training course from the Good Dog Foundation. Once you and your dog pass the training you will be able to visit patients.
- Reach Out and Read Program (Phillips Ambulatory Care Center)
Volunteers read aloud to our youngest patients as they wait to see their primary care physician.
