Medical Therapy

There are no accepted forms of medical therapy for localized prostate cancer. For metastatic prostate cancer, the primary mode of medical therapy is termed hormonal treatment. The aim of hormonal treatment is to lower the levels of testosterone and/or block testosterone receptors. This can be done with a combination of periodic injections and pills. If hormone treatment fails, there are several chemotherapy options for patients to consider.
