The Department of Dermatology offers a three-year residency training program (PGY 2 through 4) with nine positions. The program draws candidates from all over the country. Half of the residents continue with specialty, fellowship training, and half enter into private and academic settings.
The department also trains four to five fourth-year medical students a month, who, on an elective basis, each rotate for one month through the department via programs at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons or Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Through the education program, the Department of Dermatology’s physicians are also on the faculty of either Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons or Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and stay current on the most advanced techniques and thinking in dermatology.
