The Continuum Craniofacial and Cleft Palate Center

If you are looking for a cleft lip or cleft palate surgeon in Manhattan or the New York City area, The Continuum Craniofacial and Cleft Palate Center at Mount Sinai Beth Israel provides complete care for patients born with congenital defects. Our surgical team includes specialists in plastic surgery, otolaryngology, oral surgery, and neurosurgery who perform all aspects of craniofacial, orthognathic, and microsurgical reconstruction. The team treats patients with a wide range of reconstructive needs from craniosynostosis and clefts of the lip and palate, to traumatic craniofacial injuries. Major pediatric reconstructive surgery is performed at the Institute for Neurology and Neurosurgery where we have state-of-the-art facilities and a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Located conveniently at Beth Israel’s Phillips Ambulatory Care Center on Union Square in Manhattan, the center also offers the full range of non-surgical services that patients with craniofacial anomalies often require, including: audiology, speech-language therapy, and developmental pediatrics. Having all these services under one roof provides access to multiple specialists in a centralized setting. We also coordinate care with referring physicians and therapists to minimize the organizational burden on patients and their families and to keep interested caregivers involved in the treatment process.

In addition to reconstructive procedures, we perform facial and body cosmetic surgery and treat patients with conditions brought on by aging, weight fluctuations (or post-bariatric surgery) and post-partum changes.
