Patients
who are considering cochlear implantation meet with selected members of
our implant team, which includes the following health care professionals:• Surgeons
• Audiologists
• Speech-Language Pathologists
• Social Workers
• School and Work Consultants
Team members conduct a complete evaluation to assess each patient's needs and determine the appropriate way to address those needs. All different implants are considered. After the evaluation is complete, the team meets to make recommendations. Our specialists continue to meet with patients to ensure that their progress is going well. The Cochlear Implant Coordinator assists patients and their families with setting up appointments, dealing with insurance companies, and answering general questions related to our services.
