The first step in the management of hearing loss is a complete diagnostic evaluation. The Center's experienced staff has the special skills necessary to evaluate hearing in neonates, infants, children, and adults.

In addition, we evaluate children with special needs including children with autism and children with developmental delay. Our diagnostic evaluations include the following:

• Degree and type of hearing loss
• Middle ear status (immittance testing)
• Speech perception skills

Information obtained from the hearing evaluation assists in planning both medical and non-medical remediation, in selecting appropriate technology (hearing aids and/or cochlear implants) and in making recommendations to improve functioning at school or work.
