Beth Israel’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
has made the following promotions and appointments to its faculty:
* David Roane, MD, has been promoted to Associate Chairman
for Education. Dr. Roane has been the Department’s Director of Residency
Training for the past year and a half. He received his medical degree
from Stony Brook Medical School and completed a psychiatry residency at
New York University Medical Center, where he was Chief Resident. He also
completed a fellowship in neurobehavior at Beth Israel.
* David Klahr, MD, has been promoted to Unit Chief of
4 Bernstein. Dr. Klahr graduated from Albany Medical College, and completed
his psychiatry residency at St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals,
where he was Chief Resident. He has completed fellowships in schizophrenia
research at Columbia University and geriatric psychiatry at New York Hospital,
Cornell Medical Center.
* Michael Adams, MD, has been appointed as an inpatient
psychiatrist on 4 Bernstein, effective April 1. Dr. Adams was previously
Medical Director of the Adult Psychiatric Outpatient Department at Cabrini
Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College
of Medicine and did psychiatric residencies there and at North Central
Bronx Hospital.
* Natalya Ogievetsky, MD, has been appointed staff psychiatrist
for the Family Center for Bipolar Disorder. Dr. Ogievetsky was previously
an attending psychiatrist at the Maimonides Adult Outpatient Center. She
went to medical school at the Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy and the
Volgograd State Medical Institute. She was a resident in psychiatry at
Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn and a fellow in consultation/liaison
psychiatry at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
