How does the Department of Neurology work with my primary care physician?
Department of Neurology physicians partner with your primary care physician in treating your neurological condition or disease. We consult with your primary care physician and forward any reports to him or her.
What health insurance do you accept?
We accept most major insurances that the hospital accepts. Please check with your insurance company before making an appointment to see if you need an authorization/referral.
What are your payment policies?
We will accept insurance as payment if the physician is a participating provider. All other payments, such as co-payments or non-covered services, are due at the time of service via cash, check or credit card. Charges not covered by your insurance plan will be billed at a later date. Outstanding balances can be paid via the telephone, mail or at your next visit.
What takes place on my initial visit to the Department of Neurology?
Your neurologist will have you fill out an initial visit questionnaire regarding your previous medical and prescription medication history. A neurological exam will be performed, and the neurologist will discuss his or her findings with you. Additional testing will be ordered if necessary, and a therapeutic plan initiated, if appropriate.
Do I need to bring anything with me, such as previous test results?
Yes, please bring any previous test results to your initial visit, such as blood work, MRI’s and x-rays, if applicable.
