We welcome new patients, couples and families. You choose your personal physician who gets to know you and your health needs, and with whom you develop a long-term doctor-patient relationship.
Office visits are by appointment only. We make every effort to accommodate physicals, routine and urgent visits with either your physician or a physician’s assistant on the same day or within 24 hours. If you cannot keep an appointment, please give us at least 24 hours notice. If you are late for your visit, please call prior to your arrival, as we may need to reschedule your visit for a later time based on the physician’s schedule. A fee will be charged for missed appointments or late cancellations.
We do not do internal medicine phone consultations, since your health is always best served by an in-office exam.
West Park Medical Group (WPMG) is a group primary care practice. If your physician is away, your medical care can always be conveniently provided by his or her colleague, who has easy access to your medical record and can communicate directly with your regular WPMG physician.
Medication refills require an appointment. This policy allows your doctor to stay connected with your health and aware of any changes that may have taken place. For those individuals with ongoing medical problems, your doctor will give you the appropriate number of refills until your next scheduled appointment. Urgent medication requests will be reviewed on an individual basis.
Referrals for specialists may be required from your insurance company. All referrals will be completed by appointment only. This will allow your doctor to follow your care with updated information, which allows him or her to make the appropriate referral. For chronic conditions, the referral will be made with multiple visits and a length of time that is appropriate to your condition. Emergent referrals will be reviewed on an individual basis. We cannot process referral requests without at least 48 hours notice, unless there is an emergency.
Forms that need completion must be submitted during an appointment.
After hours coverage is provided for emergency use only. Should you need to reach us after office hours, on weekends or on holidays, please call our regular office number at (212) 247-8100 and leave a brief message with our answering service and we will call you back. Please have a pharmacy phone number handy when calling. WPMG is affiliated with Mount Sinai St. Luke's Roosevelt and we, therefore, recommend you use their emergency rooms, so that we may better direct your care. Our hospital network includes Beth Israel Medical Group’s walk-in offices (formally known as DOCS), which are open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Using these offices adds greater convenience for you, should you have an acute, but non-emergency illness that you would like to address when our office is closed. You can reach Beth Israel Medical Group at (212) 352-2600.
Phlebotomy (drawing blood for testing) services are offered by appointment only.
