Milton Waner, MD, an internationally recognized expert and a pioneer in the treatment of hemangiomas and vascular malformations, has joined Beth Israel Medical Center.

Together with his colleague Alejandro Berenstein, MD, the renowned endovascular surgeon, Dr. Waner is creating the Vascular and Birthmarks Institute of New York at Beth Israel. At this newly created center, Dr. Waner will work closely with the specialists in both the Department of Otolaryngology and the Institute for Neurology and Neurosurgery (INN), to provide the most advanced treatment options for the most significant array of medical and surgical options for birthmarks, including port-wine stains, hemangiomas and vascular malformations in children. We are confident that this Institute will become the leading center for the treatment of these complex disorders.

Dr. Waner was previously Director of the Vascular Anomalies Center at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and was a professor of otolaryngology and plastic surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He earned his medical degree in his native South Africa at the world-renowned University of Witwatersrand Medical School, where he also completed his residency in otolaryngology.
