A Randomized, Controlled Multicenter Trail of Vacuum Assited Closure Therapy in the Treatment and Blinded Evaluation of Diabetic Foot Ulcers
Study Arms
- Standard moist wound care
- VAC
(Week 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16 and 2 follow-up visits) Eligibility:
- Calcaneal, dorsals or planter diabetic foot ulcer > 2cm
- HbA1c < 12%
- ABI >= 0.7 and =< 1.2
- No VAC therapy within 30 days of enrollment
Compensation for transportation is provided for each regularly scheduled study visit. Standard moist wound care dressing and VAC Freedom/VAC supplies are provided.
